Part 1 of 3
Joyride to the ABR festival 2022
After a brilliant evening with our friends and meeting two new bikers joining in for the ride to the festival, we wake up with tiny eyes at 4:45. Boesten arrives promptly in time and the train of eight leaves towards Dunkirk for the ferry. We always love taking the boat towards the far far away island because it just feels more like ‘going away’.
The 200 km ride to Basinstoke is a mixed allroad ride but we did manage to ride a steep offroad track with big ruts. With the luggage it sure made some of us a little sweaty, yet it’s amazing what these bikes are capable of doing.
At the campsite Jess her bike gets a ‘little’ fix and we meet up with four other friends who did the road tour.
Thursday morning we get a free shower from the English clouds so we treat ourselves to a full English breakfast in a pub to strengthen ourselves for the ride to Ragley Hall.
When arriving at the ABR Festival, my jaw just dropped, since our visit in 2019 this event has boomed! Last year we weren’t present with the regulations but wow- I was not expecting this and neither did our friends. Literally everything adventure bike like related is present or can be done. We don’t even know what to choose for munchies out of the 50 different foodtrucks…
